On-site CAD drawings avoid costly mistakes

When it comes to remodeling kitchens, contractors know the importance of measurements. Aligning electrical plugs may seem like a minor point, but it’s a major issue for accommodating appliances. An error can mean construction delays and unnecessary expense.
Bob Nixon of Nixon Construction has remodeled hundreds of houses throughout the Bay Area. Known for his high-end remodeling and historic renovation, Nixon’s construction credentials are plentiful. He served as a building inspector and member of the construction licensing board for Hillsborough County.
When it comes to kitchen design, Kuttler Kitchens’ reliable measurements are just one of the reasons Nixon likes working with Carl Kuttler and his staff.
Custom refrigerators and ranges must have gas and electricity available within an exact area, said Nixon. “If you miss that, the refrigerator no longer becomes counter depth.”
It’s no accident that Kuttler produces precise dimensions, said Nixon. “Carl draws up the kitchen on site using his CAD software. Not everyone is able to do that.”
Though not the final working drawing, “his CAD layout and wall elevations provide a visual aid you can see right way.”
Having worked with a large retail chain on a custom kitchen, Nixon appreciates Kuttler’s personal service and attention to detail. The project, designed by the local chain store, placed a major customer appliance and electrical outlet in the wrong location. “I had to go in and fix it for the store’s sub contractor,” he said. “It was untenable. That does not happen with Carl.”
“I align myself with what I consider the best and most reliable associates in the business, and Carl is one of them,” said Nixon. “I have been in business for 30 years and never met a vendor or sub that was as accurate, customer friendly, responsive and precise as Carl and his staff. If all my subcontractors were like that, it would be great.”
